 Plaited is an unusual form of Bedfordshire lace, with a grid-like background of wheatears or tallies. It is a continuous bobbin lace, in that the background and design are made continuously -- pairs can be seen to carry through the lace from the background into the pattern, and through various parts of the pattern.
