Branscombe is an English Tape lace made with a distinctive set of features, including dense filling stitches, buttonhole stitch covered bars usually with picots, and a knotted edge stitch. This piece does have a design not untypical of Branscombe, with dense filling stitch areas, and a filling imitating the Wheatears so popular in English laces. It does NOT, however, have buttonhole stitch covered bars. The edge stitching also is widely spaced knots rather than the knot-like clusters of buttonhole stitches typical of Branscombe.
