A exquisite little nineteenth century Bedfordshire bobbin lace collar. Length:.about 13 inches. Width at center back 1 inch; ends are about 1 3/4 inch wide. A good size to embellish a child’s dress or coat.
The lace is worked in very fine thread, making the collar almost translucent in its delicacy. Workmanship is especially charming - the tapered wheatears or tallies almost dance through the lace. Color is a deep ivory.
Good condition.
