Normandy Lace Pieceworks traditionally included a center focus piece of French white-on-white embroidery, often from the back of a cap from Normandy or Brittany. Those fortunate enough to own pieces of old French whitework typically are reluctant to cut them up for pieceworks. Damaged twentieth century handkerchief embroideries, or other new embroideries serve nicely. No two pieceworks are ever alike!
