Mechlin Bobbin Lace Circa 1790-1800

Tiny fern-like swirls along the straight bottom edge suggest a Napoleonic laurel wreath. Mesh is dotton with four-petal florets. Ethereal soft and supple lace dating to the end of the eighteenth century, perhaps the turn of the nineteenth.

Good condition, slightly antique white, with a few tiny holes dotting the otherwise reselient and supple mesh.

2 yards and 10 inches long, 3 inches deep.
