 Piece of a tiny mid-nineteenth century needle lace collar. A good example of early Point de gaze - nicely shows the mesh, how the outline is attached, and how the clothwork is stitched. Size and shape of the collar, and the absence of any raised petals suggest the mid-nineteenth century date.
